Tips for living long and useful lives

One of my favourite Bible passages is:
The [uncompromisingly] righteous shall flourish like the palm tree [be long-lived, stately, upright, useful, and fruitful]; they shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon [majestic, stable, durable, and incorruptible]. Planted in the house of the Lord, they shall flourish in the courts of our God. [Growing in grace] they shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be full of sap [of spiritual vitality] and [rich in the] verdure [of trust, love, and contentment]. [They are living memorials] to show that the Lord is upright and faithful to His promises; He is my Rock, and there is no unrighteousness in Him. (Ps 92: 12-15 - Amp)
To ensure we get it right, God started with the following promise in the chapter before and then expantiated on it in the passage above:

I will give them a long, full life [satisfy them with length of days],
and they will see how I can save [show them my salvation/victory].
(Ps 91:16 - Expanded Bible)

These passages were brought to life in a rather humorous and very human way when I saw this quote in a recipe someone sent to me...(picture mine, author unknown):

I'm always amazed at how much we can learn from things/people God puts in our daily lives. At the risk of "talking dirty," there are some other qualities of toilet roll we should emulate:
  1. The better quality ones are soft...sensitive in their contact not like sandpaper
  2. The best ones keep you clean...in the secret so you can "stand" in the public
  3. They may come in different colours but always for 1 reason - to help you
  4. They are useful to all - irrespective of gender, age, location or position
  5. They never tire and keep giving - from one generation to the next
I could go on but let's stop here and just purpose to imbibe these qualities in our lives. Please feel free to share any other positive ones that come to mind with the rest of us.

Some of you may notice the date and wonder: "why is she sharing/publishing this today?" For those who don't notice or know, some people celebrate(d) "Family Day" today. So I decided to post this today since toilet paper is such a family asset & assistant in many ways. I pray that you & yours remain an asset & assist others. God bless you with long useful lives.
