You are what you eat...

I know some people believe that we "eat to live" while others say we "live to eat" - what a purpose for life? As Christians, we all know that the first statement is not true otherwise we won't fast as often as some of us do.

The fact of life is we need food to live but can survive without food for a few days. Your quality of life is dependent on what you eat and what you don't.

Think about it, those who suffer from anorexia live a painful life and eventually die before their time. Likewise, those who eat uncontrollably also suffer from it - living a painful life. The unfortunate thing about both situations is that you are not the only one who suffers. Let me put it this way: You choose your quality of life as you choose what you eat.

You may say it doesn't matter...well it does a lot -especially with unhealthy food choices.
I found 2 quotes that resonated with me:

If we're not willing to settle for junk living, we certainly shouldn't settle for junk food.
~Sally Edwards

In order to change we must be sick and tired of being sick and tired. ~Author Unknown

The choice is still yours.
Anthelme Brillat-Savarin put it aptly: "Tell me what you eat, I'll tell you who you are"
...and possibly what your children will become...
