Little profit is better than none...

Have you noticed that God doesn't waste space? There is no phrase or verse that doesn't have a purpose.

In Isaiah 48:17b, He says:
"I am the LORD your God, Who teaches you to profit, Who leads you by the way you should go." (NKJV)
He takes this promise seriously and expects us to take Him at His Word.

There are so many profit-generating tips all through the Bible...

One of such tips is in 1 Tim 4:8.

There are actually 2 or more tips in the whole verse but we'll concentrate on the first part of it which says:

"For bodily exercise profits a little..."*(NKJV)

You don't need to go to a gym to exercise. You can and should be self-motivated to exercise - wherever you are. You just need to purpose to exercise in any way possible remembering that it is not a waste of time and that a little profit is better than none.

Did you watch the CNN Heroes 2010*? One of them, a woman, was recognised for how she's motivated her community to lose weight and remain fit. You may not have the capacity to stir up a community (maybe not yet) but you can start with yourself...

Lack of activity destroys the good condition of every human being, while movement and methodical physical exercise save and preserve it.
~ Plato
Physical fitness is not only one of the most important keys to a healthy body, it is the basis of dynamic and creative intellectual activity.
~ John F. Kennedy

It is exercise alone that supports the spirits, and keeps the mind in vigor.
~Marcus Tullius Cicero

There many reasons (actually excuses - that's what mine are) why we don't exercise. In case you're reading this and churning out more excuses, please remember that:

Those who think they have not time for bodily exercise
will sooner or later have to find time for illness.
~Edward Stanley

Commit to be fit. ~Author Unknown
