To walk on water...

...you must have vision...both spiritually and physically. This struck me again when I read this statement by Cher Wang - co founder of HTC. When they had to decide on which business to exit and which one to continue in, she said "With a vision, we will not get lost."

Think about it: Physically speaking, if Peter did not see Jesus walking on water, would he have dared walk on water. As we know, for as long as he kept his eyes on Jesus..
... he walked on water.

It's exactly the same in the Spiritual. I particularly like this rendition of the ever-popular Proverbs 29:18 -
"If people can't see what God is doing, they stumble all over themselves; But when they attend to what he reveals, they are most blessed." (The Message)

You must know for yourself what God has called you to do...and even when. You'll waste your time (& time is life) if you start before God's time and waste your life if you never start despite God's instruction. It sure helps to write it down - just like we read in Habakuk 2: 2-3 - "And the LORD answered me: "Write the vision; make it plain on tablets, so he may run who reads it. For still the vision awaits its appointed time; it hastens to the end—it will not lie. If it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay." (ESV)

Before you get writing, it's not enough to just write down the vision...liek the verse says, you must do something about it because “Vision without action is a dream. Action without vision is simply passing the time. Action with Vision is making a positive difference.”
~ Joel Barker

The frightening opposite of all we've talked about is described in the last part of Isaiah 28:7:
"The prophets see visions but don't really understand them. The priests aren't able to make good decisions." (NIRV) What a waste!

"Vision looks inward and becomes duty.
Vision looks outward and becomes aspiration.
Vision looks upward and becomes faith."
~ Stephen S. Wise

Faith is to believe what you do not yet see;
the reward for this faith is to see what you believe.
~ St. Augustine

“Keep your dreams alive.
Understand to achieve anything requires faith and belief in yourself, vision, hard work, determination, and dedication. Remember all things are possible for those who believe.” Gail Devers

The bottom line is: "We are limited, not by our abilities, but by our vision.” ~ Anonymous

So have a vision....and walk on water. God bless
