Recently during my devotion, I read an interesting phrase (which I'll paraphrase):
The word of God tells us
what He desires us to be for Him ========================>
<======================== what He desires to be for us.
Too many times we only reach out for what He desires to be for us and don't put in any effort into what He desires us to be (for Him).
Let's consider Psalm 23 that we shared a few days ago; to truly enjoy the benefits of having God as our Shepherd, we must be "real" sheep - now this is a good time for you to go and look at the pieces we shared on what we can learn from sheep.
I like the way the Contemporary English Version (CEV) puts Psalm 37: 4
Do what the LORD wants, and he will give you your heart's desire.
Enjoying the benefits and best of God is a reciprocal relationship. There are some common blessings - available even to unbelievers - like air but God has His favourites. Now you know how you can become one...I pray we decide and do what we need to.
We have11 more months of this year to enjoy the harvest of God's blessings and benefits...just sow the right seeds.
