Home is...

...where the heart is,
and where the help is not where the "hurt" is.

This is something I've known and decided to share - especially when we're being required to stay home.

Our homes must be places of refuge and healing...even better than safe houses. If and when a person is hurt - emotionally, socially or otherwise, the person should desire to "run" home versus run away from it.

This is important for everyone, whether or not you have children and whether or not your children still live at home.

When any family member is going through a hard time, their family should not make it any harder. To be clear, I'm not saying that we should lie to each other at home - far from it!

What I'm saying is if/when a member of the family has been hurt by others or by a circumstance, they should feel safe enough to bare it all with their family. And know that their family members will tell them the truth in love and possibly help them come up with an action plan to turn things around or maybe determine a new and better path.

As Gabrielle Applebury said:
"No matter what happens,
a family will always have your back."

And that's why every home should be one that each family member wants to come back to. #HomeSweetHome
