Secret # 7: Calm assurance

Secret #7: Calm assurance in the face of injustice comes from knowing that God is in control of the future.*

If I could restate this quotation, I'd say Calm assurance in the face of any circumstance comes from knowing that God is in control of the future. Put even more succintly, "Calmness is the cradle of power."**

Thomas Jefferson put it this way: "Nothing gives a person so much advantage over another as to remain always cool and unruffled under all circumstances."

In fact, "he who has faith has... an inward reservoir of courage, hope, confidence, calmness, and assuring trust that all will come out well - even though to the world it may appear to come out most badly."***

Nick Vujicic said: FAITH is really Full Assurance In The Heart****

Heb 11:1 defines Faith as "the assurance (the confirmation, the title deed) of the things [we] hope for, being the proof of things [we] do not see and the conviction of their reality [faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses]."*****

Faith is not one of the easiest things to acquire and yet it is the easiest way of life. A lot of us may have been raised to be curious and enquiring; we want to know the how, what, when, where, why of things that we expect to happen in our lives whether or not they are beyond our control - this is why living by faith can be difficult. However, realizing that nothing can happen expect God allows it to happen we might as well switch into "auto-pilot" mode and trust God completely.

In summary,
"He who has faith has... an inward reservoir of courage, hope, confidence, calmness, and assuring trust that all will come out well - even though to the world it may appear to come out most badly."******

"The more tranquil a man becomes, the greater is his success, his influence, his power for good. Calmness of mind is one of the beautiful jewels of wisdom."******

May we all come to live in that calm assurance that God is in control, irrespective of the storms around us.
